Introduction

The Personal Power Programme combines the disciplines of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness, to teach children how their thoughts effect their feelings and behaviour, and where these thoughts come from. They learn strategies to identify and manage their negative thoughts and emotions, in order to reduce behavioural problems. 

The programme uses a neuro-linguistic approach through innovative and creative methods, so that children can increase their self-esteem and vocabulary of feelings. Delivered in universal, group settings, it is designed to reduce isolation and create a support network.

Children are educated and empowered  to improve and sustain their well-being, and control of their lives by using the power of their minds.

 

The Personal Power Programme promotes three key themes:

Independence- through psychoeducation 

Creativity- through the exploration of how culture and society impacts on our identity

Empowerment- through Mindfulness and CBT strategies
