The I.C.E Programme is available to women of all social and ethnic backgrounds that have experienced domestic abuse and suffer from mental health difficulties. They must no longer be in an abusive relationship; this is because there is a possibility that if the information in this programme is shared whilst a woman is in this kind of relationship, then it could do more damage than good by causing conflict and confusion. The perpetrator may also feel threatened by her increased independence and escalate his violence. Women in this programme need to be active in the process of change, as they will be expected to take on a variety of information and practice new skills. They must not be in any other form of counselling or psychotherapy, or diagnosed with severe mental health illnesses (please ask for further details).
The I.C.E Programme is for women who are interested in learning how they are affected by society and their gender roles. It empowers them to make informed decisions and take control of their thoughts, feelings and behaviour.
